Thought Process and Details
Since the animation is mostly static, the key in such cases is to pay extra attention and time to details and create a holistic composition from lots of small and big animations. There must be a constant movement across the whole illustration.
Tools and Workflow
I was considering recreating elements in 3D, to integrate more advanced movement of objects. However, I wanted to keep the 2D aesthetics of the visuals and decided to use After Effects internal tools to create an imitation of a 3D. Furthermore, this workflow is much more time efficient, than remaking the elements in a 3D space, which will be very useful, if I were to work on a similar project under strict deadlines.
